All-Optical Format Conversion for Rectangular 8QAM Signals Based on Phase-Sensitive Amplification and Nonlinear Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
An all-optical format conversion (AOFC) scheme for the input 30 Gbit/s rectangular 8-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (8QAM) signal is proposed and numerically investigated based on phase-sensitive amplification (PSA) and nonlinear Mach-Zehnder ...

Fast autotuning of a hydrogen maser by cavity Q modulation [PDF]

open access: yes
A new fast autotuner for the hydrogen maser was implemented. By modulating the cavity, a phase shift in the maser output signal is induced which is proportional to the cavity tuning error.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

HFDNN: A Hybrid Fusion Deep Neural Network for Robust Automatic Modulation Classification in Adverse Wireless Environments

open access: yesIEEE Access
Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC) plays a vital role in modern wireless communication systems, particularly in domains such as defense, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cognitive radio, where resilience to interference is essential.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Unequal Input Voltages Distribution Between the Serial Connected Halfbridges

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2006
This paper describes a topology of DC-DC converter consisting in two serial connected half-bridges. Secondary circuit is realized like a conventional full-wave rectifier.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Hyper Phase Shift Keying Modulation

open access: yes, 2011
A communications system and method for transmitting digital information includes arranging a modulator to have an input bit stream of binary data and arranging a signal generator to generate four orthonormal hyper phase shift keying (HPSK) basis functions that are periodic functions with a duration T.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
