Giant terahertz magnetoelastic phase-shift modulator

Applied Physics Reviews
Developments in communication technologies depend on the parallel progress in materials innovation, data processing devices, and their strategic integration. Terahertz (THz) science and technology is the latest field to witness phenomenal growth in 6G communication and quantum materials devices.

Phase shifting interferometry by modulation of the electric field module

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
A new method for phase-shifting interferometry based on the wave amplitude modulation is proposed and discussed. This proposal is based on the interference of three waves, where two waves attend as two reference waves and the other wave attends as a probe wave.

Phase-locked phase-shifting laser diode interferometer with photothermal modulation

Applied Optics, 2000
We propose a phase-shifting interferometer that uses both phase-locked and photothermal modulating techniques. In this interferometer the measurement accuracy is not affected by the intensity modulation that usually appears in current modulation. The surface profile of a diamond-turned aluminum disk was measured; the rms repeatability obtained was ...

Differential phase shift keying modulation for WIN systems

TENCON'92 - Technology Enabling Tomorrow, 2003
Experimental results on indoor microwave data communication using differential phase shift keying (DPSK) to implement wireless in-building network (WIN) systems are presented. The unique characteristics of this wireless medium are reported, with emphasis on multipath problems and spasmodic links of the radio channel which distinguishes WIN from wired ...

Spatial light modulator-based phase-shifting Gabor holography

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
We present a modified Gabor-like setup able to recover the complex amplitude distribution of the object wavefront from a set of in-line recorded holograms. The proposed configuration is characterized by the insertion of a condenser lens and a spatial light modulator (SLM) into the classical Gabor configuration.

A Phase-Shift Modulation Strategy for a Bidirectional CLLC Resonant Converter

International Conference on Performance Engineering, 2019
A novel phase-shift modulation strategy is applied to a bidirectional CLLC resonant converter (RC). Different from the well-known pulse-frequency modulation strategy, the switching frequency of the CLLC RC is constant, which is beneficial for optimal ...

Intensity dependent phase shifts in frequency modulation spectroscopy

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1993
We discuss experimental observations of an induced phase shift of the rf signal produced in FM saturated absorption measurements under the conditions of large probe beam intensities. This phase shift can be understood in terms of the phase difference between the phase modulation of the optical driving field and the steady state macroscopic polarization

Effect of Periodic Phase Modulation on the Matched Filtering With Insufficient Phase-Shift Capability

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems
Utilizing periodic phase modulation (PPM) can shift the echo spectrum, affecting matched filtering (MF) processing, leading to time delay shift or amplitude attenuation. The prior works on the impact of PPM on MF mainly consider an ideal phase modulation

Phase shifted addressing using a spatial light modulator

Microelectronic Engineering, 2005
Spatial light modulator (SLM)-based microlithography has been developed into a mask writer system with state of the art performance. The system is conceptually a stepper with a programmable mask where the discrete mirror structure on the SLM is filtered out by an aperture in the Fourier plane. The SLM-chip consist of 1million flat tilting micro-mirrors

Spread-Spectrum Technique Employing Phase-Shift Modulation to Reduce EM Noise for Parallel–Series LLC Resonant Converter

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
A spread-spectrum technique (SST) has been developed to mitigate an electromagnetic interference in power converters. However, for resonant converters using a pulse-frequency modulation, it is difficult to regulate its output voltage with the SST ...
