Stochastic Models, 1987 Let \((X_ t,t\geq 0)\) be a continuous-time Markov process with state space \(\{\) 0,1,...,n\(\}\) where 0 is an absorbing state, and let \(T_{n0}\) denote the time to reach 0 if \(X_ 0=n\). It is shown that \(var(T_{n0})/(E T_{n0})\) \(2\geq 1/n\) with equality if and only if \((X_ t,t\geq 0)\) is a pure death process with constant death rate.

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Moment Distributions of Phase Type [PDF]
, 2009 In this paper we prove that the class of distributions on the positive reals with a rational Laplace transform, also known as matrix-exponential distributions, is closed under formation of moment distributions. In particular, the results are hence valid for the well known class of phase-type distributions.
