IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Microstrip Configurations of Reflective-Mode Phase-Variation Permittivity Sensors Based on Weakly Coupled Step Impedance Resonators (SIR): An Analysis to the Light of Circuit Duality

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents and experimentally validates various topologies of one-port reflective-mode phase-variation permittivity sensors based on weakly coupled step impedance resonators (SIRs), the sensing elements, implemented in microstrip technology. The differences between such topologies concern the specific configuration, either series or parallel ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Multi-sensor data fusion for urban area classification

open access: yes, 2011
Nowadays many sensors for information acquisition are widely employed in remote sensing and different properties of the objects can be revealed. Unfortunately each imaging sensor has its own limits on scene recognition in the sense of thematic, temporal,

Covariate-adjusted functional data analysis for structural health monitoring

open access: yesData-Centric Engineering
Structural health monitoring (SHM) is increasingly applied in civil engineering. One of its primary purposes is detecting and assessing changes in structure conditions to increase safety and reduce potential maintenance downtime.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Laser‐Induced in situ Synthesis and Assembly of Nano‐Cotton TiO2 Humidity Sensors with High Sensitivity and Fast Response for Real‐Time Respiratory Monitoring

open access: yesSmall Structures
Humidity sensors functioned by 1D nanostructural metal oxides (1D NMOs) are promising for real‐time respiratory monitoring. However, the preparation and assembly of 1D NMOs on sensor structures are quite challenging due to the complicated synthesis ...
