Phase-based brain consciousness analysis [PDF]

open access: possible2012 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2012
This work provides a novel framework for identifying coma and brain death consciousness states by analysing frequency power and phase synchrony features from electroencephalogram (EEG). The proposed analysis of pairs of EEG electrodes using complex extensions of Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) permits the extraction of information related to the ...

Analysis of Phase Distribution in Phase-Change Nonvolatile Memories

IEEE Electron Device Letters, 2004
The phase transformation in chalcogenide-based nonvolatile memories is studied by cell electrical characterization. The cell state (amorphous, crystalline, or mixed) is changed by applying electrical pulses, then the cell resistance R and the current-voltage characteristics are measured.

The Analysis Phase

2019
So here we are. You’ve run an experiment and collected the evidence. Now comes the important part—learning from what you’ve discovered. If you don’t take the time to learn—to interpret the results of an experiment and understand its implications—then everything you’ve read previous to this has been for nothing.

Phase-Plane Analysis

2006
Abstract The systems with which this chapter is concerned are those of the form satisfied by the functions x = x(t), y = y(t), where X and Y are continuous real-valued functions and dot denotes differentiation with respect to the real variable t. They are often referred to as ‘plane autonomous systems of ordinary differential equations’.

Chemical phase-analysis for kyanites

Talanta, 1978
A new method is presented for determining the kyanite present in a refractory aluminium silicate rock. The sample is digested with hydrofluoric acid for 2-3 hr, the excess of acid is removed or complexed and the residue is filtered off, dried and weighed. The residue is the undissolved kyanite and any topaz and tourmaline present.

Solid-phase protein sequence analysis

Nature, 1990
The solutions to many protein analytical problems require flexible chemistries at a high sensitivity. Solid-phase sequence analysis is one way to eliminate limitations inherent in current methods.

Phase Noise Analysis

1998
A frequency synthesizer or signal source is expected to provide a pure spectral signal. There should be no unwanted amplitude or frequency/phase modulation in the output spectrum. As we will discuss shortly, undesired phase modulation on the local oscillator in communications receivers, can reduce the channel selectivity and degrade the bit error rate ...

Data Analysis: Research Phase II

2017
This chapter analyses all the data collected in Research Phase I, during which all the relevant macroeconomic data for the four relevant language areas was collected. These quantitative, macroeconomic analytical insights are displayed in this chapter, before Chapter 7 analyses the qualitative interview data.
