Phase angle predicts physical function in older adults.

Archives of gerontology and geriatrics (Print), 2020
BACKGROUND Phase angle (PhA) is recognized as an indicator of cellular health and may be a useful marker of physical functions in geriatric populations.

Phase Angle is Determined by Body Composition and Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Adolescents

International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2020
The phase angle is used to evaluate nutritional status and is an indicator of cellular health. Cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition are strong indicators of health during adolescence.

Phase Transitions in Angle Variables

Physical Review Letters, 2003
Phase transitions in angle variables are studied. An example of angular phase transition, an axially to triaxially deformed "shape" transition in nuclei, is discussed. Spectroscopic signatures for the occurrence of these transitions are suggested. Preliminary experimental evidence is presented.

Phase-Angle Control of System Interconnections

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1939
This paper describes an application of a new method of automatic control between two interconnected power systems, whereby greater utilization of the interconnection capacity is secured. As the stable limit of the interchange between systems is affected by variations in the magnitude and location of intermediate loads on the respective systems, direct ...

Very fast phase angle estimation algorithm for a single-phase system having sudden phase angle jumps

Conference Record of the 2002 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 37th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.02CH37344), 2003
This work proposes a very fast phase angle estimation algorithm for a single-phase system under a sudden phase angle jump condition. When a source voltage changes in a step manner, the normal phase angle detector, such as a phase locked loop (PLL) and a (low pass) filter, typically generates phase delay and results in a sluggish response, and causes ...

Fast Phase Angle Jump Estimation to Improve the Convergence Time of the GDSC-PLL

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2020
The fast detection of magnitude, frequency, and phase angle of the fundamental-frequency component is very useful in many three-phase power system applications.

A phase angle standard

Measurement Science and Technology, 2004
A phase angle standard for power frequencies (40–400 Hz) with a very low measuring uncertainty of 3 µrad is developed. The standard is based on a two-channel high-stability arbitrary waveform AC source for voltages up to 120 V and currents up to 6 A with high phase angle resolution which is realized as a development device with full computer control. A

Phase angle regulating transformer protection

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1994
This paper describes the protection of a 345 kV, 450 MVA three phase, phase angle regulating (PAR) transformer. The transformer includes load tap changers which permit phase angle variations of 25/spl deg/ advance to 25/spl deg/ retard in a total of 32 steps (16 advance, 16 retard).
