A Single-Phase Multilevel Inverter With Battery Balancing
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2013In this paper, a single-phase multilevel inverter with battery balancing is proposed. The input of each individual inverter is directly connected to a battery. The combination of batteries can be controlled according to the batteries' voltages to implement the battery-balancing function.

Phase balancing using simulated annealing
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1999Deregulation eliminates the boundary of the territory of the monopoly power industry. Competition forces utilities to improve power quality as well as to reduce investment and operation costs. Feeder imbalance describes a situation in which the voltages of a three-phase voltage source are not identical in magnitude, or the phase differences between ...

Unsupervised Multiphase Segmentation: A Phase Balancing Model
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2010Variational models have been studied for image segmentation application since the Mumford-Shah functional was introduced in the late 1980s. In this paper, we focus on multiphase segmentation with a new regularization term that yields an unsupervised segmentation model.

Balanced-to-Balanced Power Divider with Tunable In-Phase/Out-of-Phase Power-Dividing Ratio
2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2018This paper presents a balanced-to-balanced microstrip power divider with a wide range of continuously tunable power-dividing ratios for either in-phase or out-of-phase outputs. Based on simple design equations, the proposed power divider can theoretically attain ideal mixed-mode responses, including the in-phase and out-of-phase designs, for an ...

Phase Equilibria of Balanced Microemulsions
Langmuir, 1995The flexible surface model is a powerful framework in which to describe the thermodynamics of fluid membrane phases. In the case of balanced microemulsions (and their bilayer analogue, the L 3 phase), a general form for the free energy density has been proposed.

An electronic phase balancer for three-phase three-wire loads
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1986It is shown that a high-gain amplifier can be used for removing the negative sequence component from the line voltages of an unbalanced three-phase supply and yield balanced voltages across a load. Experimental results are included in support of the proposed scheme.

On the transient phase of balanced SSFP sequences
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2003AbstractThe signal intensity of balanced steady‐state free precession (SSFP) imaging is a function of the proton density, T1, T2, flip angle (α), and repetition time (TR). The steady‐state signal intensity that is established after about 5*T1/TR can be described analytically.

Static phase improvements in the LNE watt balance
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016This paper describes the mechanical and electrical modifications carried out on the LNE watt balance to reduce the noise level associated with the static phase. The mechanical improvements concern the home-made balance beam using flexure hinges as pivots of the force comparator.

A Balanced Phase Shifter With Common-Mode Suppression
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2019In this paper, a balanced phase shifter using coupled line with loaded transmission line is proposed, which is the first balanced passive phase shifter providing both differential-mode (DM) phase shift and common-mode (CM) suppression simultaneously.
