Phase changes in Be stars: The Be-shell and Be phases of Pleione [PDF]
Phase changes from Be to Be-shell and/or B normal, and conversely, presently remain unpredictable in Be stars (except in some binaries where the transition to a shell phase seems to be associated with the orbital period). Because of their unpredictable character, these phenomena have been monitored in very few cases and are still very poorly understood.

Polariton Nanophotonics using Phase Change Materials
Polaritons formed by the coupling of light and material excitations such as plasmons, phonons, or excitons enable light-matter interactions at the nanoscale beyond what is currently possible with conventional optics.

Semi-Classical Approach to the Two-Level Pairing Model --Various Aspects of Phase Change-- [PDF]
Aspects of the phase change of the two-level pairing model are investigated in the semi-classical treatment by using the variational approch with the mixed-mode coherent state.

Population and species neighbor identity impact trait–trait relationships and plant performance
We evaluated how populations and species identity influence plant performance and trait outcomes in mixtures, and assessed trait variation among populations of two forb species native to the western United States (Dieteria canescens and Heterotheca villosa) following three interaction treatments (single‐population monoculture, two‐population mixture ...

Phase change composite bimorphs [PDF]
A bilayer composite thin-film beam structure is described. The structure incorporates a bulk phase change material as small inclusions in one layer of a bimorph.

In vivo IL‐10 produced by tissue‐resident tolDC is involved in maintaining/inducing tolerance. Depending on the agent used for ex vivo tolDC generation, cells acquire common features but prime T cells towards anergy, FOXP3+ Tregs, or Tr1 cells according to the levels of IL‐10 produced. Ex vivo‐induced tolDC were administered to patients to re‐establish/

Phase Change Material Photonics [PDF]
In the last decade phase change materials (PCM) research has switched from practical application in optical data storage toward electrical phase change random access memory technologies (PCRAM). As these devices are commercialised, we expect the research direction to switch once again toward electrical-photonic devices.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

SU(4) pure-gauge string tensions [PDF]
In response to recently renewed interests in SU(N) pure-gauge dynamics with large N, both from M/string duality and from finite-temperature QCD phase structure, we calculate string tensions acting between the fundamental 4, diquark 6 and other color ...
