Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Phase- and composition-controlled synthesis
Nature Materials, 2022A general method by controlling reaction kinetics is proposed to synthesize 67 kinds of two-dimensional crystal with custom-made phases and compositions, in particular, Fe- and Cr-based (layered and non-layered) chalcogenides and phosphorous chalcogenides, which show interesting ferromagnetism and superconductivity properties.

Four-Phase Checkerboard Composites
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2001Summary: Two-dimensional periodic rectangular checkerboard media are considered in the situation where mean fluxes are prescribed across the structure. The closed-form solution is obtained in the general case where the checkerboard is constructed using four rectangular cells, each having a different, constant resistivity; this four cell structure then ...

Checkerboard composites with separated phases
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 2001Recently the authors have developed a method [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 61, 1839–1556 (2001)] capable of solving, in closed form, boundary value problems for four-phase doubly periodic checkerboard composites with continuity between the different phases.

Phase composition of asphaltenes
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2013The phase composition of asphaltenes taken from oils of Romashskino field (Russia) was studied with calorimetry. It was found that in asphaltenes there are ordered amorphous phases which break in the temperature ranges 70–130 and 130–170 °C. Polarization microscopy data show that the liquid crystal phase appears at temperatures from 180 to 190 °C ...

Phase-composition and selectivity
Applied Catalysis, 1990It is commonly accepted in propene oxidation on copper oxide that it is partially oxidized to acrolein on Cu2O but totally oxidized on CuO. It is therefore the reaction of choice to illustrate the usefulness of solid electrolyte potentiometry in the case of oxidic catalysts.

Composite phase and phase-based Gabor element aggregation
Proceedings., International Conference on Image Processing, 2002This paper describes how the phase, obtained by Gabor filtering an image, can be used to aggregate related Gabor elements (simple features identified by peaks in the Gabor magnitude). This phase-based feature grouping simplifies the perennial problem of target/background segmentation because we need to only determine if the aggregate feature is target ...
