Detection and Analysis of Cell Nuclear Phases
2008Automated analysis of molecular images has increasingly become an important research in computational life science. In this paper some new and efficient algorithms for detecting and analyzing cell phases of high-content screening are presented. The conceptual frameworks are based on the morphological features of cell nuclei.

Detection of Phase Singularities in Triangular Meshes
Methods of Information in Medicine, 2007Summary Objectives : Phase singularities have become a key marker in animal and computer models of atrial and ventricular fibrillation. However, existing algorithms for the automatic detection of phase singularities are limited to regular, quadratic mesh grids. We present an algorithm to automatically and exactly detect

Use of Phase for the Detection of Hidden Periodicites
Biometrical Journal, 1995AbstractStandard tests for the detection of hidden periodicities in time series are largely ignored by applied workers. Various simple but inappropriate methods are used instead. Therefore a method is suggested which is both simple and appropriate but which requires the prior knowledge of certain characteristics of the suspected periodicity.

Effects of phase‐of‐respiration on GSR detection
British Journal of Psychology, 1977Previous studies of visual and auditory signal detection (Flexman & Demaree, 1972; Flexman, 1974; Flexman, Demaree & Simpson, 1974) have found that signals occurring during exhalation are detected with greater sensitivity than are signals occurring during inhalation.

Mixed signal phase sensitive detection
Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010Phase sensitive detection is a fundamental technique in signal processing. We present a mixed signal approach which takes advantage of both analog and digital features to produce a simple and optimal phase sensitive detector with several advantages over the standard analog or digital approaches.

On the detection of a signal known except for phase
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1965The optimum (likelihood ratio) design and evaluation of a detection receiver is presented for a signal known except for a class of unimodal distributed phases. Sequential and nonsequential realizations are presented. From the evaluation, we conclude that phase angle information which locates the phase to within 65^{\circ} is, approximately, for ...
