Quantum phase transition in spin glasses with multi-spin interactions

open access: yes, 1997
We examine the phase diagram of the $p$-interaction spin glass model in a transverse field. We consider a spherical version of the model and compare with results obtained in the Ising case.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Dynamic Phase Diagram of the REM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
By studying the two-time overlap correlation function, we give a comprehensive analysis of the phase diagram of the Random Hopping Dynamics of the Random Energy Model (REM) on time-scales that are exponential in the volume. These results are derived from the convergence properties of the clock process associated to the dynamics and fine properties of ...

Coupled Ising models with disorder

open access: yes, 2000
In this paper we study the phase diagram of two Ising planes coupled by a standard spin-spin interaction with bond randomness in each plane. The whole phase diagram is analyzed by help of Monte Carlo simulations and field theory arguments.Comment: 9 ...

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Chern_simons Theory of the Anisotropic Quantum Heisenberg Antiferromagnet on a Square Lattice

open access: yes, 1994
We consider the anisotropic quantum Heisenberg antiferromagnet (with anisotropy $\lambda$) on a square lattice using a Chern-Simons (or Wigner-Jordan) approach.

Tumor clusters with divergent inflammation and human retroelement expression determine the clinical outcome of patients with serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Analysis of treatment‐naïve high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and control tissues for ERVs, LINE‐1 (L1), inflammation, and immune checkpoints identified five clusters with diverse patient recurrence‐free survivals. An inflammation score was calculated and correlated with retroelement expression, where one novel cluster (Triple‐I) with high ...

Metastable phases and ‘metastable’ phase diagrams [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2006
The work discusses specifics of phase transitions for metastable states of substances. The objects of condensed media physics are primarily equilibrium states of substances with metastable phases viewed as an exception, while the overwhelming majority of organic substances investigated in chemistry are metastable.

Phase Diagram of Superconductivity on the Anisotropic Triangular Lattice Hubbard Model

open access: yes, 1998
We study the electronic states of the anisotropic triangular lattice Hubbard model at half filling, which is a simple effective model for the organic superconducting $\kappa$-BEDT-TTF compounds.

EGFR‐STAT3 activation provides a therapeutic rationale for targeting aggressive ETV1‐positive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cotargeting EGFR and STAT3 with Erlotinib and TTI‐101 impairs both 2D and 3D growth of ETV1‐overexpressing prostate cancer cells by disrupting a self‐sustaining ETV1–EGFR positive feedback loop that promotes EGFR and STAT3 expression and phosphorylation (activation).
