Phase distortion in operational amplifiers

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, 1962
The stray capacities in the input and feedback paths of an operational amplifier, its finite bandwidth and d.c. gain effectively narrow the bandwidth of an amplifier causing amplitude and phase errors in the computer solutions. A given degree of accuracy consequently becomes more difficult to obtain with an amplifier when used in a high-speed ...

Mechanisms for phase distortion in a traveling wave tube

Physical Review E, 2004
We present a view of the physics of phase distortion in a traveling wave tube (TWT) based on unique insights afforded by the MUSE models of a TWT [IEEE Trans. Plasma Sci. 30, 1063 (2002)]]. The conclusion, supported by analytic theory and simulations, is that prior to gain compression phase distortion is due to harmonic frequencies in the electron beam

Comments on phase intercept distortion

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1968
This letter discusses phase intercept distortion as presented a previous letter. It also relates that presentation to another method which some readers may find more familiar.

Tracking distortion as phase modulation

IEEE Transactions on Audio, 1963
In support of the urgency for establishing a standard for the vertical tracking angle in stereo disc recording, the phase perturbing character of tracking error distortion is shown, and used to calculate the phase and amplitude intermodulation distortion (PIM and AIM) and harmonic distortion arising from tracking errors. These results are compared with

Measures and perception of phase distortion in electroacoustical systems

ICASSP '80. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Phase distortion and group delay distortion are defined. Examples are given indicating quantitative amounts of phase distortion produced by loudspeakers, anti-alias filters and analog magnetic recorders. A frequency-dependent tolerance on group delay distortion is developed based on numerous perceptual studies.

Distorted Wave Approximation for Scattering Phase-Shifts

Nature, 1960
THE elastic scattering wave-function for a short-range potential function V(r) may be written in the form : where j l(x) and n l(x) are the spherical Bessel and Neumann functions respectively, δl is the scattering phase-shift, and g l(r) is a form factor measuring the distortion ...
