Phase-field-lattice Boltzmann study for lamellar eutectic growth in a natural convection melt [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2017
In the present study, the influence of natural convection on the lamellar eutectic growth is determined by a phase-field-lattice Boltzmann study for Al-Cu eutectic alloy.

Phase-field model of oxidation: Equilibrium

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2017
A phase-field model of an oxide relevant to corrosion resistant alloys for film thicknesses below the Debye length L_{D}, where charge neutrality in the oxide does not occur, is formulated. The phase-field model is validated in the Wagner limit using a sharp interface Gouy-Chapman model for the electrostatic double layer.

Inverse transition in the two dimensional dipolar frustrated ferromagnet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show that the mean field phase diagram of the dipolar frustrated ferromagnet in an external field presents an inverse transition in the field-temperature plane.

Phase-field-crystal model for fcc ordering

open access: yes, 2010
We develop and analyze a two-mode phase-field-crystal model to describe fcc ordering. The model is formulated by coupling two different sets of crystal density waves corresponding to and reciprocal lattice vectors, which are chosen to form triads so as

Existence of a phase transition under finite magnetic field in the long-range RKKY Ising spin glass Dy$_{x}$Y$_{1-x}$Ru$_{2}$Si$_{2}$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A phase transition of a model compound of the long-range Ising spin glass (SG) Dy$_{x}$Y$_{1-x}$Ru$_{2}$Si$_{2}$, where spins interact via the RKKY interaction, has been investigated.

Phase field modeling of electrochemistry. I. Equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2004
A diffuse interface (phase field) model for an electrochemical system is developed. We describe the minimal set of components needed to model an electrochemical interface and present a variational derivation of the governing equations. With a simple set of assumptions: mass and volume constraints, Poisson's equation, ideal solution thermodynamics in ...

Modelling of the microstructure formation during solidification of binary alloy Al–Si under stirring

open access: yesВесці Нацыянальнай акадэміі навук Беларусі: Серыя фізіка-тэхнічных навук, 2019
The growth of primary crystals from a supercooled binary melt is modeled on the basis of the phase-field method with an approximate consideration for melt stirring. Changes in the concentration of the solute in the melt near the solidification region due

Phase Field Model for Dynamics of Sweeping Interface

open access: yes, 2005
Motivated by the drying pattern experiment by Yamazaki and Mizuguchi[J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. {\bf 69} (2000) 2387], we propose the dynamics of sweeping interface, in which material distributed over a region is swept by a moving interface.
