GPFniCS: A generalised phase field method to model fracture
Advanced damage tolerance design of materials and mechanical components heavily relies on fracture failure analysis. A robust, efficient, and versatile software (GPFniCS) is developed and provided for public access to perform fracture analyses based on ...

Electrical treeing: A phase-field model
Electrical treeing is a commonly observed phenomenon associated with dielectric breakdown in solid dielectrics. In this work, a phase-field model is developed to study the initiation and propagation of electrical trees in two different geometries: a ...

A Phase Field Model for Rate-Dependent Ductile Fracture
In this study, a phase field viscoplastic model is proposed to model the influence of the loading rate on the ductile fracture, as one of the main causes of metallic alloys’ failure.

A phase-field model for interphase precipitation in V-micro-alloyed structural steels [PDF]
A multi-component phase field model was developed based on CALPHAD method and directly coupled with the CALPHAD thermodynamic database using a four-sublattice model.

Numerical Phase-Field Model Validation for Dissolution of Minerals
Modelling of a mineral dissolution front propagation is of interest in a wide range of scientific and engineering fields. The dissolution of minerals often involves complex physico-chemical processes at the solid–liquid interface (at nano-scale), which ...

Phase-field modeling of eutectic growth
A phase-field model of eutectic growth is proposed in terms of a free energy F, which is a functional of a liquid-solid order parameter psi, and a conserved concentration field c. The model is shown to recover the important features of a eutectic phase diagram and to reduce to the standard sharp-interface formulation of nonequilibrium growth.

Sharp-Interface Limit of a Fluctuating Phase-Field Model
We present a derivation of the sharp-interface limit of a generic fluctuating phase-field model for solidification. As a main result, we obtain a sharp-interface projection which presents noise terms in both the diffusion equation and in the moving ...
