We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Phase Transformation in Mixtures of Clay–Glass–Hematite–Waste Activated Sludge During Sintering
This work analyzes phase transformations in quaternary mixtures (clay–glass–hematite–waste activated sludge (WAS)), processed at 800–1000 °C under conditions of oxygen deficiency.

Formation of a new stable phase of phosphatidylglycerols
Dilauroyl and dimyristoylphosphatidylglycerol (DMPG) form a more stable gel state when aqueous suspensions are incubated several days at low temperature (0-2 degrees C), pH 7.4 with 0.15 M NaCl. This gel state is characterized by a higher transition temperature and a higher transition enthalpy. The geometry of this gel state is distinguishable from the

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Boron in Palladium: interaction, phase formation and phase transformation
The principles for the formation of interstitial solid solution have been described in the past by rules, taking in consideration elastic relationships between solvent and solute atoms. These rules are not applicable on the formation of the solid solution of the late transition metals (a-Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt) and boron.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Garnet-type Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) is a solid electrolyte candidate for ASSLBs, owing to its wide electrochemical window and intrinsic safety. Yet phase-pure LLZO remains difficult because secondary phases form, and the transition towards the tetragonal ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Metastable phase formation of (Mo,Cr)2AlB2 MAB phase thin films revealed by theory and experiments
A (Mo0.24Cr0.76)0.40Al0.32B0.28 thin film was deposited by direct current magnetron sputtering at 600 °C substrate temperature. Analysis by X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, elastic recoil detection analysis, and high-resolution ...
