Perfect Control of Diffraction Patterns with Phase-Gradient Metasurfaces.
ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2022Phase-gradient metasurfaces (PGMs) constitute an efficient platform for deflection of a beam in a desired direction. According to the generalized Snell's law, the direction of the reflected/refracted wave can be tuned by the spatial phase function ...

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2022
Traditional methods of generating vortex beams based on metasurfaces consist mainly in modulating propagation phase or geometric phase. Here, by introducing detour phase, we propose the construction of dual-polarized vortex beam generators in the form of

Phase-gradient metasurfaces for antenna applications
International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications, 2023Phase-gradient metasurfaces are innovative devices able to mold in an almost arbitrary way the flow of electromagnetic waves [1]–[2]. In the transmission scenario, phase-gradient metasurfaces generally consist of a discrete set of Huygens meta-atoms ...

Plasmonic Phase-Gradient Image Sensors
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2023We report plasmonic metasurface photodetectors featuring a strong asymmetric angular response around normal incidence that can visualize transparent phase objects with high sensitivity in a simple and compact imaging setup.

Measurement of phase gradients in the EEG
Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2006Previous research has shown that spatio-temporal waves in the EEG are generally of long spatial wavelength and form smooth patterns of phase gradients at particular time-samples. This paper describes a method to measure smooth phase gradients of long spatial wavelength in the EEG.

Polarimetric phase gradient autofocus
2007 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2007In the past decade the use of fully polarimetric SAR (polSAR) systems has increased significantly due to their effectiveness in target classification and detection applications. While polSAR imagery has been extensively used to distinguish between different scattering mechanisms in a scene, there has been a lack of research in the exploitation of ...

Phase-gradient algorithm as an optimal estimator of the phase derivative
Optics Letters, 1989The phase-gradient algorithm represents a powerful new signal-processing technique with applications to aperture-synthesis imaging. These include, for example, synthetic-aperture-radar phase correction and stellar-image reconstruction. The algorithm combines redundant information present in the data to arrive at an estimate of the phase derivative.

Ghost phase cancellation with phase‐encoding gradient modulation
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1993AbstractMotion artifacts are a dominant cause of magnetic resonance image quality degradation. Periodic or nearly periodic motion results in image replicates of the moving structures in spin‐warp Fourier imaging. The replicates, or ghosts, propagate in the image in the phase encoding, or y, direction.
