MASS TRANSFER AND PHASE HOLDUP CHARACTERISTICS IN THREE-PHASE FLUIDIZED BEDS
The effects of liquid surface tension (42.6 ∼ 72,4 mN/m) and viscosity (1 ∼214mPa • sn), liquid (0.01 ∼0.12m/s) and gas (0.01 ∼0.20m/s) velocities and particle sizes (1 — 8 mm) on phase holdup and mass transfer coefficient ( kLa) have been determined in a 0.142 m-I.D. × 2.0 m-high Plexiglas column.

Numerical Investigation of Gas Holdup and Phase Mixing in Bubble Column Reactors
A discrete bubble model (DBM) has been used to study the overall gas holdup and the phase mixing in bubble column reactors. The Eulerian–Lagrangian approach has the advantage that it is possible to study the overall gas holdup and the gas phase mixing in a direct way.

Dispersed‐Phase Holdup and Characteristic Velocity in an Agitated‐Pulsed Solvent Extraction Column
The agitated-pulsed column (APC) is expected to exhibit good transfer. The dispersed-phase holdup and characteristic velocity were measured using a 25-mm diameter APC.

In the gas-water two phase of horizontal well, gas holdup is usually obtained by inverse calculation of the water holdup measured by the array capacitance probes. Gas Array Tool (GAT) has been developed to directly measure gas holdup. This instrument has

Abstract A wide range of experimental holdup data have been analysed on the basis of the general correlations of Chen & Spedding (1983). For upward inclined flow, holdup data in the range ( R G / R L ) = 4.0 to 275 were handled using a modification of the Chen & Spedding method, and for the case of ( R G / R L ) ⩽

Phase holdups in three‐phase fluidized beds
AIChE Journal, 1987AbstractThe local bubble frequency, the local phase holdups and the local bed porosity in three‐phase fluidized beds were measured. Air, water, and 250 μm glass beads were used as the gas, liquid, and solid phases. The effects of gas and liquid velocities on phase holdups were studied.

Phase holdup characteristics in three phase fluidized beds
The Chemical Engineering Journal, 1990Abstract The bed porosity and the individual phase holdup characteristics in three phase fluidized beds with a wide range of liquid properties have been examine The liquid phase holdup increases with liquid velocity and viscosity, column diameter and liquid surface tension; it decreases with gas velocity, parti The liquid phase holdup and the bed ...
