Influence of Residual Amplitude and Phase Error for GF-3 Quad-Polarization SAR on Wind Vector Retrieval

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
High-resolution wind vector is important to investigate local winds’ variability over the global ocean. Quad-polarization Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can provide wind vector independently without any external wind direction inputs.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

A hierarchical time-varying optimization algorithm for Photovoltaic-energy storage to suppress three-phase imbalances in active distribution networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
For three-phase unbalance problems due to excessive single-phase loads, unbalanced load connections and ground faults, etc. This paper proposes a hierarchical time-varying optimization algorithm for active distribution networks to suppress three-phase ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Design and Implementation of HMI For Monitoring The Imbalance of Current and Voltage Based on Calculation of Maximum Deviation Mean Value Method

open access: yesJournal of Applied Engineering and Technological Science
Voltage and current (V-I) imbalance in a three-phase power system can cause decreased efficiency, increased power losses, equipment heating, induction machine faults, and neutral currents.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
