Frequency and temperature control for complex system engineering in optoelectronics and electronics: an overview

open access: yesInternational Journal for Simulation and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization, 2020
To take advantage of the physical principles of determining parameters, such as frequency stability, noise and also alignment of optical signals, it is necessary to control complex systems.

Convergence of phase noise in DPSK transmission systems by novel phase noise averagers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2006
This investigation proposes a novel all-optical phase noise averager to reduce residual phase noise in the differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) transmission system with phase-preserving amplitude regenerators. The proposed phase noise averager is based on a phase-sensitive amplifier but does not require an extra phase-locking optical pump beam.

Over-the-Air Phase Noise Spectral Density Measurement for FMCW Radar Sensors

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
Phase noise significantly degrades the performance of frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW)- and chirp sequence (CS)-based radar sensors. Knowledge of the power spectral density (PSD) of these sensors is therefore essential for estimating their ...

Efficient binary phase quantizer based on phase sensitive four wave mixing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We experimentally demonstrate an efficient binary phase quantizer operating at low pump powers. Phase-sensitive operation is obtained by polarization mixing the phase-locked signal/idler pair in a degenerate dual-pump vector parametric ...

Time-scale analysis of abrupt changes corrupted by multiplicative noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Multiplicative Abrupt Changes (ACs) have been considered in many applications. These applications include image processing (speckle) and random communication models (fading).

Design of Digital Communications for Strong Phase Noise Channels

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology, 2020
To meet the requirements of beyond 5G networks, the significant amount of unused spectrum in sub-TeraHertz frequencies is contemplated for high-rate wireless communications.

Statistical analysis of first-order bang-bang phase-locked loops using sign-dependent random-walk theory

open access: yes, 2010
Bang-bang phase-locked loops (BBPLLs) are inherently nonlinear due to the hard nonlinearity introduced by the binary phase detector (BPD). This paper provides an exact statistical analysis of the steady-state timing jitter in a first order BBPLL when ...
