Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

An Adaptive Sequential Phase Optimization Method Based on Coherence Stability Detection and Adjustment Correction

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Phase optimization, aimed to enhance phase signal-to-noise ratio, is a critical component of the distributed scatterer interferometric synthetic aperture radar technique and directly determines the fineness and reliability of deformation monitoring. As a

The Extension of Phase Correlation to Image Perspective Distortions Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Phase correlation is one of the widely used image registration method in medical image processing and remote sensing. One of the main limitations of the phase correlation-based registration method is that it can only cope with Euclidean transformations ...

Design optimization of permanent magnet actuators. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This study describes the design optimization of permanent actuators, of both rotary and linear topologies. Parameter scanning, constrained single and multi-criterion optimization techniques are developed, with due emphasis on the efficient ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Parameter Estimation of Electric Power Transformers Using Coyote Optimization Algorithm With Experimental Verification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this work, the Coyote Optimization Algorithm (COA) is implemented for estimating the parameters of single and three-phase power transformers. The estimation process is employed on the basis of the manufacturer's operation reports.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
