Quantum Private Comparison Based on Four-Particle Cluster State

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A quantum private comparison (QPC) protocol enables two parties to securely compare their private data without disclosing the actual values to one another, utilizing quantum mechanics to maintain confidentiality.

Design of fractional slot windings with coil span of two slots for use in six-phase synchronous machines

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The use of a winding step of two slots attempts to strike a balance between traditional distributed windings and fractional slot concentrated windings.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A Review of Solid-State LiDAR Principles and Metasurface-Based LiDAR Sensors

open access: yesSensors
Light Detecting and Ranging (LiDAR) has been a promising solution for autonomous vehicles. For beam-steering mechanisms, solid-state LiDAR with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and optical phased arrays (OPAs) have demonstrated robust and compact ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Phase‐index correlation delay shift keying modulation

open access: yesIET Communications, 2022
High‐data‐rate phase‐orthogonality correlation‐delay‐shift‐keying (HPO‐CDSK) transmits 2‐bits orthogonal signal in parallel and achieve higher spectral efficiency in the category of non‐coherent detection chaotic systems. However, the spectral efficiency

Doppler-corrected differential detection system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Doppler in a communication system operating with a multiple differential phase-shift-keyed format (MDPSK) creates an adverse phase shift in an incoming signal.

Sagnac Rotational Phase Shifts in a Mesoscopic Electron Interferometer with Spin-Orbit Interactions

open access: yes, 2007
The Sagnac effect is an important phase coherent effect in optical and atom interferometers where rotations of the interferometer with respect to an inertial reference frame result in a shift in the interference pattern proportional to the rotation rate.

Dispersion compensation in atom interferometry by a Sagnac phase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We reanalyzed our atom interferometer measurement of the electric polarizability of lithium now accounting for the Sagnac effect due to Earth rotation. The resulting correction to the polarizability is very small but the visibility as a function of the ...
