From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Analysis of Multicarrier PWM techniques for Photovoltaic fed Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2017
Recently multilevel inverter technology emerging as an important alternative in the field of high power, medium voltage energy control. The various topologies for multilevel inverters such as diode-clamped, flying capacitor and cascaded H-bridge have ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Heterodyne Angle Deviation Interferometry in Vibration and Bubble Measurements

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
We proposed heterodyne angle deviation interferometry (HADI) for angle deviation measurements. The phase shift of an angular sensor (which can be a metal film or a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) prism) is proportional to the deviation angle of the test ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Design, fabrication and performance analysis of TTD structures for S-band active phased array RF beamforming networks

open access: yesMANAS: Journal of Engineering, 2019
In this study an eight-channel active analog beamforming structure is designed and developed in subsystems by using a Applied Wave Research (AWR) simulation program. This structure works in S-band and contains true-time-delay (TTD) systems.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A Novel Phase Shift Hybrid Control Method for Full-Bridge Buck DC-DC Converters Based on Type 3 Voltage Loop Compensator and Overcurrent Protection [PDF]

open access: yesهوش محاسباتی در مهندسی برق
In this article, a new hybrid control strategy for full-bridge DC-DC converters based on the phase shift control method is presented. The proposed control method has two loops of current control and voltage control, which is designed by using two ...
