Phase Unwrapping with Phase-Singularity Spreading
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006We propose a novel phase unwrapping method where we spread the singularity in phase map with fractional phase compensators. We find that the obtained digital elevation maps have higher quality than those obtained in conventional network programming method. In addition, the calculation cost is very small.

Singularity-Spreading Phase Unwrapping
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2007How to process phase singular points (SPs), or residues, is a difficult problem in a 2-D phase-unwrapping process to generate digital elevation maps (DEMs). Although the minimum-cost network-flow method is an effective and widely used technique, some problems still remain.

Beams of electromagnetic radiation with phase singularities can transport angular momentum and exert torques on objects. In this paper we discuss the generation of such beams and present a simple analysis of the phenomenon. These beams and their effects have been studied at optical and at millimeter wavelengths. We describe a particularly efficient way

Phase singularities, correlation singularities, and conditions for complete destructive interference
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2012A previously derived condition for the complete destructive interference of partially coherent light emerging from a trio of pinholes in an opaque screen is generalized to the case when the coherence properties of the field are asymmetric. It is shown by example that the interference condition is necessary, but not sufficient, and that the existence of

Transverse laser patterns. I. Phase singularity crystals
Physical Review A, 1991We analyze the interaction and the competition of a set of transverse cavity modes, which belong to a frequency-degenerate family. The laser turns out to be able to realize several different stationary spatial patterns, which differ in the transverse configuration of the intensity or of the field and are met by varying the values of the control ...

Entangled Tangles of Phase Singularities
Frontiers in Optics 2010/Laser Science XXVI, 2010We holographically measure entangled tangles of phase singularity lines in light generated via spontaneous parametric down-conversion. This type of entanglement is interesting because it is between topological features that extend over finite, macroscopic, isolated volumes.

Generic Diffusion of Phase Singularities
CLEO: 2014, 2014We find generic diffusion of phase singularities in microwave speckle patterns as the frequency is scanned and in numerical simulations in the time domain. These results give the photon diffusion coefficient through the random medium.

PHASE SPACE IN SINGULAR THEORIES
International Journal of Modern Physics A, 1989The method is formulated for constructing the generators of gauge transformations in the phase space for a given singular Lagrangian. These generators are used to impose the necessary and sufficient conditions on gauge functions. The results are analyzed for particular examples.
