Effect of MnO2 Phase Structure on the Oxidative Reactivity toward Bisphenol A Degradation.
Environmental Science and Technology, 2018Manganese dioxides (MnO2) are among important environmental oxidants in contaminant removal; however, most existing work has only focused on naturally abundant MnO2.

Structural Phase Transitions in CaC2
Chemistry, 2001Pure CaC2, free of CaO impurities, was obtained by the reaction of elemental calcium with graphite at 1,070 K. By means of laboratory X-ray and synchrotron powder diffraction experiments, the phase diagram was investigated in the temperature range from 10 K to 823 K; this confirmed the literature data that reported the partial coexistence of up to four

Effects of phase structure of MnO2 and morphology of δ-MnO2 on toluene catalytic oxidation
, 2019Different phase structured MnO2, including β-, α-, γ- and three kinds of δ-MnO2, are prepared and their catalytic activities are compared through catalytic oxidation of toluene at different temperature.

The phase problem with structured sampling
2016 International Conference on Image and Vision Computing New Zealand (IVCNZ), 2016The phase problem is a main limitation in diffraction imaging. Uniqueness properties of the phase problem are important, and are well characterised for well-sampled Fourier amplitude data. Here we consider uniqueness of the phase problem is cases where the Fourier amplitude data are sampled at a sufficient density, but the sample locations are ...

The structure of Au6Y+ in the gas phase
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2010The geometric and electronic structure of the Au(6)Y(+) cation is studied by gas phase vibrational spectroscopy combined with density functional theory calculations. The infrared photodissociation spectrum of Au(6)Y(+)·Ne is measured in the 95-225 cm(-1) energy range and exhibits two characteristic absorption bands at 181 cm(-1) and 121 cm(-1).

This chapter describes the iron-carbon phase diagram, its modification by alloying elements, and the effect of carbon on the chemistry and crystallography of austenite, ferrite, and cementite found in Fe-C alloys and steels. It also lays the groundwork for understanding important metallurgical concepts, including solubility, critical temperature ...

Phase transitions in heteropolymers with ‘‘secondary structure’’
Physical Review E, 1994We study a model of a random heteropolymer with ``secondary structure'' at the level of mean field theory. The randomness in the polymer sequence is represented by a set of quenched disorder variables that describe the monomer-monomer interactions.

The stability of metallic phases and structures: phases with the AlB2 and related structures
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1979Abstract Phases (MN2) with the AIB2 structure form two groups each having a distinctly different variation of axial ratio as a function of the radius ratio of the component atoms. The two groups are seen to result from: (i) the <202¯3> M–N distances which are equal to the c. n.

Phase transitions in discrete structures
2015Over the past 20 years physicists have developed an ingenious but non-rigorous approach to random discrete structures, the so-called cavity method. This technique has led to many intriguing predictions as to, e.g., the precise location and nature of phase transitions and the performance of algorithms.

Compressive Phase Retrieval of Structured Signals
2018 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2018Compressive phase retrieval is the problem of recovering a structured vector $x\in \mathbb{C}^{n}$ from its phaseless linear measurements. A compression algorithm aims to represent structured signals with as few bits as possible. As a result of extensive research devoted to compression algorithms, in many signal classes, compression algorithms are ...
