Conformal Phased Array Antenna Design
S-MTT International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1974An extremely low profile modular conformal phased array antenna design will be presented. Components that make up the antenna will be described to show the unique features such as the plug-in balun, the MHP phase shifter assembly, and the stripline RF manifold tracks incorporated to a create a lightweight, reliable, maintainable panel.

This paper demonstrates and compares the Planar arrays (2D) and the Conformal arrays (3D). The 3D surfaces and topography of these applications have allowed for more frequent and high scale design. Analysing conformal antennas are a technology that has been utilized for electromagnetic emitting devices.

Smart antenna - phase controlled linear antenna array
2007 19th International Conference on Applied Electromagnetics and Communications, 2007Our aim is to develop a microwave (X-band) antenna whose radiation pattern is electronically controlled. The radiation pattern of regular antennas is determined by the Fourier-transform of the phase and amplitude distribution on the antenna aperture. This radiation pattern is mechanically fixed so its alteration is impossible.

Uniform circular arrays for phased array antenna
2011 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2011This paper compares the performances of a number of uniform circular array (UCA) configurations for phased array antennas. A UCA geometry is targeted due to its symmetrical configuration which enables the phased array antenna to scan azimuthally with minimal changes in its beam width and sidelobe levels.

Ideally, an antenna "paper thin" would best suit the aerodynamic and mechanical engineer. This antenna would neither, disturb the aerodynamic flow, nor would it protrude inwardly to disrupt the mechanical structure.
