Wideband Phased Array Antennas

2008 IEEE National Aerospace and Electronics Conference, 2008
Slotted spiral antennas with a ground plane are designed to cover the frequency range 0.5-18 GHz. Various antennas incorporating Archemidan slotted spirals with a ground plane and dielectric thickness less than 100 um were designed, processed and tested at different frequency ranges using conventional PCBs as well as vertically interconnected and ...

Education in antennas - phased antenna arrays

17th International Conference on Applied Electromagnetics and Communications, 2003. ICECom 2003., 2004
The paper describes the new tasks related to the subjects taught at the department of the electromagnetic field. These tasks demonstrate the influences of supply amplitudes, supply phases, antenna element placement and antenna element parameters.

Infrared phased‐array antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2008
AbstractPhased addition of currents from multiple dipole antennas is demonstrated for the first time at a wavelength of 10.6 μm. Coplanar strip lines are used to interconnect the antennas, preserving the phase of the individual infrared‐frequency currents, which are summed together at a common bolometric load.

Phased Array Antennas

1971 2nd European Microwave Conference, 1971
The theory of array antenna design has matured such that the tools are now available to design elements with predictable performance and to verify this performance with high confidence. The antenna feed is of equal importance to the antenna element.

Self-phasing array antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1964
A self-phasing array antenna is described which operates on the incident wavefront in such a manner that when it is retransmitted it returns whence it came as a coherent wavefront irrespective of the original phase distribution incident on the array. Self-phasing is useful where a two-way propagation path is available and where a conventional antenna ...

Conformal Phased Array Antenna Design

S-MTT International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1974
An extremely low profile modular conformal phased array antenna design will be presented. Components that make up the antenna will be described to show the unique features such as the plug-in balun, the MHP phase shifter assembly, and the stripline RF manifold tracks incorporated to a create a lightweight, reliable, maintainable panel.
