Phased Array Antenna for Geophysical FMCW Radar
Snow avalanche is a significant threat to human and infrastructures. Therefore, by risk assessment of the areas which are prone to avalanche based on the statistical analysis, the avalanche risk zones can be calculated.

Active phased array radar analysis [PDF]
A phased array antenna can electronically steer the direction of the antenna beam almost instantaneously. In an Active Phased Array Radar (APAR), this capability is used to allow the system to multiplex its time between many different functions; the ...

Advanced Concepts for High-Resolution Wide-Swath SAR Imaging
This paper reviews advanced multi-channel SAR system concepts for the imaging of wide swaths with high resolution. Several novel system architectures employing both direct radiating arrays and reflector antennas fed by a digital array are introduced ...

Polar‐low track prediction using machine‐learning methods
Machine‐learning models are developed to produce reliable and efficient forecasts of polar‐low (PL) trajectories 12 hours ahead. A temporal model (RLSTM) benefiting from the rolling‐forecast strategy, improves overall prediction accuracy and is suitable for quick experimentation, while a spatiotemporal model (PL‐UNet), incorporating both historical and

NowPrecip 2: Precipitation nowcasting in the complex terrain of Switzerland. Part I: Methods
In this work we present the methods of the areal precipitation nowcasting system NowPrecip version 2. In this version a new methodology is introduced, which, although it shares philosophy and techniques with the original methodology of NowPrecip version 1, can be considered as distinct from that.

Uncertainties in the representation of ice particle size distributions (PSDs) cause inaccuracies in parameterisations of clouds. In this study, observed PSDs from a midlatitude frontal case study are compared with gamma PSDs with the same concentration and ice water content.

Intensity dependence of El Niño and La Niña evolution and mixed‐layer heat‐budget processes
El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) intensity modulates the spatial, temporal, and dynamical evolution of events strongly. El Niño SST anomalies shift westward with decreasing intensity, while La Niña anomalies remain spatially fixed. Stronger events initiate earlier and persist longer than weak events.
