Calibration of Phasor Measurement Unit at NIST

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2013
This paper describes the basic operating principles of Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) and their time requirements to estimate absolute phase angles. A National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) PMU calibration system that tests PMU performance necessary to meet the IEEE synchrophasor standard requirements is discussed.

Voltage stability analysis using phasor measurement unit

2017 Recent Developments in Control, Automation & Power Engineering (RDCAPE), 2017
This paper provides a brief knowledge of the voltage stability and its measure is used in the state estimation (SE). Changes in voltage value occurs due to the changes in the load. Its evaluation has been done by varying load and for different load cases and varied voltage value is noted. To perform SE, Weighted Least Square (WLS) method is used. Since

Multistage optimal placement of phasor measurement unit

2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE), 2015
This paper is concerned about the optimal allocation of Phasor Measurement Units and at the same time ensuring the complete network observability with the available Phasor Measurement Units. Due to large interconnection of the power system it is not possible to allocate Phasor Measurement Units at strategic location in one go.

Power System Dynamic Performance Measured by Phasor Measurement Unit

2007 IEEE Lausanne Power Tech, 2007
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in monitoring and analyzing dynamic performances of power systems, such as observation of power system oscillations and evaluation of machine parameters. However, in Japan, there was little observation as a whole power system.

Causality analysis in phasor measurement unit algorithms

2020
In order to compensate for the group delay, existing phasor measurement unit (PMU) algorithms usually shift time stamps backward. Such schemes make PMU output dependent on past samples, and thus these PMUs are defined as noncausal PMUs in this chapter.
