PHAST: Hardware-accelerated shortest path trees

Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, 2011
We present a novel algorithm to solve the nonnegative single-source shortest path problem on road networks and other graphs with low highway dimension. After a quick preprocessing phase, we can compute all distances from a given source in the graph with essentially a linear sweep over all vertices.

PhaST: Model-free Phaseless Subspace Tracking

ICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
Phaseless subspace tracking is the problem of recovering a time sequence of discrete signals from magnitude-only measurements of their linear projections, when the true signal lies in a low-dimensional subspace that can change with time. A typical assumption used in a lot of work is that the subspace changes gradually over time.

Performance portability in a real world application: PHAST applied to Caffe

The International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications, 2022
This work covers the PHAST Library’s employment, a hardware-agnostic programming library, to a real-world application like the Caffe framework. The original implementation of Caffe consists of two different versions of the source code: one to run on CPU platforms and another one to run on the GPU side.

PHAST: plano holographic aspheric stitching technique

Advances in Optical and Mechanical Technologies for Telescopes and Instrumentation III, 2018
Telescope design advancements are leading to the need for larger convex secondary elements, making the use of traditional refractive test geometries impractical. In response to requests for larger convex components, Harris has developed the Plano Holographic Aspheric Stitching Technique (PHAST)[1], a novel metrology approach that offers versatility as ...

PHAST-MBD: Implementing Many-Body Dispersion in the PHAST 2.0 Potential, Results for Noble Gases

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation
A recently published empirical force field (herein PHAST or PHAST 2.0) is employed in its many-body dispersion-corrected form (PHAST-MBD) to examine the effects of collective dispersion interactions. Rare gases are used as a systematic way to test increasing importance of van der Waals attractions in systems dominated by repulsion-dispersion that are a
