Comparison of Experimental and Simulations Results of a Large-Scale Propane Jet Fire using CFD and DNV-Phast Software

open access: yes, 2020
In the present study, vertical propane jet fires are simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with Shear Stress Transport (SST), Eddy Dissipation Concept (EDC) and Monte Carlo. These models are used for turbulence, combustion and radiation, respectively, and the results are compared with the DNV-Phast 7.2 software.

Risk Assessment of Releasing Flammable Material from Liquefied Petroleum Gas Tanks by Bowtie Method and Vulnerability Zoning by PHAST Software

open access: yesOccupational Hygiene and Health Promotion, 2019
Introduction: The release of storage tanks' contents can lead to consequences such as BLEVE, explosions, fires, etc. Therefore, identifying the causes of content release, determining the scenarios, consequences, and possibility of incidents are required to prevent possible accidents. Moreover, the vulnerability and safety ranges should be determined to

A study to design the emergency reaction plan for LPG tanks in 5th refinery, south pars gas-condensate by using phast software

open access: yesJournal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, 2016
Outcome Assessment is a tool applied by safety engineers in order to evaluate the risk resulting from industrial activities and determine the level of risk and damage arising from work-related accidents. After identifying and evaluating the risks, it is essential to estimate the intensity and consequences of the risks because the intensity of adverse ...

Modeling the survival of Campylobacter jejuni in raw milk considering the viable but non‐culturable cells (VBNC)

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 43, Issue 6, December 2023., 2023
This study corroborate that the survival of Campylobacter jejuni in raw milk is largely underestimated if only based on CFU data. Therefore, as long as the infectivity and pathogenicity factors from VBNC and recovered CFU are not entirely understood in raw milk, the IPIU‐derived model generated in this study should be considered as a worst‐case ...

Clinical and genetic screening in a large Iranian family with Marfan syndrome: A case study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
Abstract Background and Aims Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder caused by pathogenic variants of the fibrillin‐1‐encoding FBN1 gene that commonly affects the cardiovascular, skeletal, and ocular systems. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical features and genetic causes of the MFS phenotype in a large Iranian family ...
