Mutagenicity of phenanthrene and phenanthrene K-region derivatives
Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1979Phenanthrene and 9 K-region derivatives, most of them potential metabolites of phenanthrene, were tested for mutagenicity by the reversion of histidine-dependent Salmonella typhimurium TA1535, TA1537, TA1538, TA98 and TA100 and the rec assay with Bacillus subtilis H17 and M45.

Light gas solubility in phenanthrene: the hydrogen—phenanthrene and methane—phenanthrene systems
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1990Abstract A variable volume equilibrium cell was used to study the hydrogen—phenanthrene and methane—phenanthrene systems. The data were taken along isotherms from 398.2 to 473.2 K and up to pressures of 25.23 MPa. Henry's constants and heats of solution were calculated for both systems.

Phenanthrene-9-carboxylic Acid
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1997The title compound, C15H10O2, crystallized in the centrosymmetric space group C2/c. Hydrogen bonding is of the cyclic dimer type about a center of symmetry. The carboxyl H and O atoms are ordered. The phenanthrene core is almost planar and the dihedral angle between the core plane and the carboxyl group plane is only 1.8(1) degrees. The bay H atoms, H4

Phenanthrenes from Juncus effusus
Planta Medica, 2013A chemical investigation of the EtOAc-soluble fraction from the ethanol extract of the medullae of Juncus effusus led to the isolation of three new 9,10-dihydrophenanthrenes, juncuenins E-G (1-3); two new phenanthrenes, dehydrojuncuenins D-E (4-5); one new feruloylated glycoside (6); and one known 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (7).

Phenanthrenes from Dendrobium plicatile
Phytochemistry, 2000From Dendrobium plicatile stems, three phenanthrenes were isolated. The structures are 2,5-dihydroxy-4,9,10-trimethoxyphenanthrene, 2,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxyphenanthrene and 2,5,9-trihydroxy-4-methoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene.

New syntheses of 1,4-dimethyl-phenanthrene and 9-methyl-phenanthrene
Die Produkte (I) bzw.

An experiment was undertaken in gnotobiotic microcosms to determine the role of buffelgrass (Cenchrus ciliaris) and a phenanthrene-degrading bacterium (strain PM600) in the degradation of phenanthrene. The Gram-negative bacterium was identified as a Sphingomonas sp. by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and as S.
