Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Curing of phenolic resins modified with chestnut tannin extract
Phenolic novolac resins have been modified with chestnut tannin for reduction of phenol content in resins. In this work, rheological and kinetic analysis of curing reactions of these resins with hexamethylenetetramine (hexamine) has been performed ...

Formaldehyde-Free and Phenol-Free Non-toxic Phenolic Resins with High Thermostability
Today, phenolic resins are polymers still widely used, with a global production of about 12 million tons/per year. However, their syntheses need the use of formaldehyde and phenol, which are highly toxic. Notably, formaldehyde is carcinogenic. Therefore,

Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...

A COMBINATION OF POLYETHYLENIMINE AND PHENOLIC RESIN AS AN ADHESIVE FOR WOOD-BASED PANELS
The purpose of this study is to develop a low-formaldehyde-emitting resin system for medium density fibreboards (MDF). A combination of polyamines with phenolic resins seems to be suitable for this purpose.

Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,

The BnTFL1‐BnJAM3‐BnSWEETs Module Orchestrates Seed Storage Reserve Accumulation in Brassica napus
BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 form a complex that facilitates the transport of soluble sugars from the seed coat to the embryo by directly activating the expression of BnSWEETs. Furthermore, BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 work cooperatively to promote soluble sugar and oil production while suppressing protein deposition.

20th Australasian Conference on the Mechanics of Structures and Materials (ACMSM20) [PDF]
Resole phenolic resins were modified by forming copolymers with Cardanol, which is the main component of Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL). The modified phenolic resins were prepared at various mole ratios of phenol to cardanol and the polymerization was ...
