Precision Multiboson Phenomenology [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We present recent results in precision multiboson (+jet) phenomenology at the LHC. Results for diboson + jet, triboson, and also for WAA + jet will be discussed focusing on the impact of the perturbative corrections on the expected phenomenology.

Cloaked Quasi Bound States in the Continuum in Semiconductor Metasurfaces with Out‐of‐Plane Symmetry Breaking

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The impact of out‐of‐plane symmetry breaking in semiconductor metasurfaces on bound states in the continuum (BICs) with vertical dipole‐like character is theoretically investigated. By tilting/inclining the meta‐atoms–thus effectively rotating the dipolar resonances–a so‐called cloaked quasi‐BIC is excited at a specific angle of incidence ...

Phenomenology of the Watcher measure in the Bousso-Polchinski landscape [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We investigate the phenomenology of the "Watcher" measure in the Bousso-Polchinski landscape. We study a small toy landscape analytically. The results are sufficient to allow us to extrapolate "watcher" phenomenology to much larger landscapes. We compare our results to other measures which have been applied to BP landscapes containing googles of vacua.

Мiryachit: A Culture‐Specific Startle Syndrome in the Saami People

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Miryachit is perhaps the most complex and least understood of the culture‐specific startle syndromes that include latah and the jumping Frenchmen of Maine. Objectives We carried out a field study to evaluate startle‐induced paroxysms in the Saami to determine if it is still endemic and, if so, to contrast it with the available ...

The phenomenology of memory

open access: yes, 2017
The most salient aspect of memory is its role in preserving previously acquired information so as to make it available for further activities. Anna realizes that something is amiss in a book on Roman history because she learned and remembers that Caesar was murdered.

Phenomenology as rhetoric

open access: yesNursing Inquiry, 2005
Phenomenology as rhetoric The literature on ‘nursing phenomenology’ is driven by a range of ontological and epistemological considerations, intended to distance it from conventionally scientific approaches. However, this paper examines a series of discrepancies between phenomenological rhetoric and phenomenological practice.

Benign Idiopathic Myoclonus: A New Clinical Entity?

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Myoclonus is a brief shock‐like, involuntary movement, which can be distinguished in physiologic, essential, epileptic, and symptomatic, according to its etiology. Physiologic myoclonus typically occurs in healthy people without disability or progression.

Generalised antenna functions for higher-order calculations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper we discuss the definition, the construction and the implementation of generalised antenna functions for final-state radiation up to Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order (NNLO) in QCD.
