Phenomenology of the little flavon model [PDF]
The phenomenology of the little-flavon model is discussed. Flavor changing neutral current and lepto-quark compositeness set the most stringent bounds to the lowest possible value for the scale at which the flavons arise as pseudo-Goldstone bosons.

Accurate simulation of W, Z, and Higgs boson decays in Sherpa
We discuss the inclusion of next-to–next-to leading order electromagnetic and of next-to leading order electroweak corrections to the leptonic decays of weak gauge and Higgs bosons in the Sherpa event generator.

We present a framework for the construction of portal effective theory (PETs) that couple effective field theories of the Standard Model (SM) to light hidden messenger fields.

To be or not to be phenomenology: that is the question [PDF]
Recent years have seen a burgeoning in phenomenological research on sport, physical cultures and exercise. As editors and reviewers, however, we frequently and consistently see social science articles that claim to be ‘phenomenological’ or to use phenomenology, but the reasons for such claims are not always evident. Indeed, on closer reading, many such

Quarkonium photoproduction in pp and AA collisions at the LHC
In this contribution we report on the investigations of the exclusive production of quarkonium states in proton-proton and nucleus-nucleus reactions at the LHC using the theoretical framework of the light-cone dipole formalism.

Potential and limitations of machine-learning approaches to inclusive |V ub | determinations
The determination of |V ub | in inclusive semileptonic B → X u ℓν decays will be among the pivotal tasks of Belle II. In this paper we study the potential and limitations of machine-learning approaches that attempt to reduce theory uncertainties by ...

MeV-scale sterile neutrino decays at the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino program
Nearly-sterile neutrinos with masses in the MeV range and below would be produced in the beam of the Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) program at Fermilab. In this article, we study the potential for SBN to discover these particles through their subsequent ...

Vector boson fusion at multi-TeV muon colliders
High-energy lepton colliders with a centre-of-mass energy in the multi-TeV range are currently considered among the most challenging and far-reaching future accelerator projects. Studies performed so far have mostly focused on the reach for new phenomena

Phenomenology Redux: Doing Phenomenology, Becoming Phenomenological
This article revisits the phenomenological method with particular focus on how it is meaningful for me. The effort is to present this method as a personal journey that has evolved over 13 years and to illustrate how it might become a more accessible approach for meaning-making and serving others.
