Precision SMEFT bounds from the VBF Higgs at high transverse momentum

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We study the production of Higgs bosons at high transverse momenta via vector-boson fusion (VBF) in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). We find that contributions from four independent operator combinations dominate in this limit.

Adversarially-trained autoencoders for robust unsupervised new physics searches

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Machine learning techniques in particle physics are most powerful when they are trained directly on data, to avoid sensitivity to theoretical uncertainties or an underlying bias on the expected signal.

Dental anomalies in Pleistocene African hippopotamuses from Olduvai Bed II

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Hippopotamuses are key palaeoenvironmental indicators in African Pleistocene ecosystems due to their ecological dependence on permanent water bodies and their frequent representation in the fossil record. This study examines dental anomalies in Hippopotamus cf. gorgops from several localities in Bed II of Olduvai Gorge (Tanzania), dated to ca.

Investigating the B-meson production based on the color dipole transverse momentum representation in pp collisions at the LHC

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this work the B-mesons differential cross sections in pp collisions are evaluated considering the color dipole formalism in transverse momentum representation along with the unintegrated gluon distributions (UGDs). Analytical parametrizations for UGDs

Projected transverse momentum resummation in top-antitop pair production at LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The transverse momentum distribution of the t t ¯ $$ t\overline{t} $$ system is of both experimental and theoretical interest. In the presence of azimuthally asymmetric divergences, pursuing resummation at high logarithmic precision is rather demanding ...

When AI outputs become documents: Documentation activity in human–AI dialogue

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) generate texts that increasingly circulate as documents in knowledge infrastructures, yet their documentary status remains theoretically underdetermined. Unlike traditional documents, LLM outputs lack identifiable authorship, stable provenance, or testimonial grounding.

A Phenomenological Study of Lived Experiences of International Counseling Students in Multicultural Counseling Courses

open access: yesCounselor Education and Supervision, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This transcendental phenomenological study aimed to explore international counseling students’ (ICSs’) lived experiences in multicultural counseling classes. Semi‐structured individual interviews were conducted with 17 ICSs, six of whom also completed focus group interviews.

Simplified models of dark matter with a long-lived co-annihilation partner

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We introduce a new set of simplified models to address the effects of 3-point interactions between the dark matter particle, its dark co-annihilation partner, and the Standard Model degree of freedom, which we take to be the tau lepton. The contributions

Application of dynamic modelling and model‐based predictive control to enhance a cooling tower

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Model predictive control (MPC) applied to improve the operation of cooling towers. Abstract Model predictive control (MPC) differs from traditional feedback control by making predictions within a time horizon, providing better control actions for the process.

The Serotonin 2B (5‐HT2B) Receptor: A Narrative Review of Preclinical and Clinical Evidence on the Safety Considerations and Therapeutic Potential for the Treatment of Depression

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Major depressive disorder (MDD) and treatment‐resistant depression (TRD) remain leading causes of disability, providing the impetus for receptor‐level treatment strategies beyond monoamine reuptake. The serotonin 5‐HT2B receptor (5‐HT2BR) is uniquely positioned at the interface of central‐antidepressant mechanisms and peripheral cardiac risks.
