Vector boson fusion at multi-TeV muon colliders

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
High-energy lepton colliders with a centre-of-mass energy in the multi-TeV range are currently considered among the most challenging and far-reaching future accelerator projects. Studies performed so far have mostly focused on the reach for new phenomena

Development of a Synthetic Hydrogel to Foster Microvascularization of an Endometriosis Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ascent of novel alternative methods in drug development spotlights the dual needs for improved biological fidelity to in vivo, along with reproducibility, especially in regulatory applications. The need for pre‐clinical models of patient‐derived endometriosis lesions motivates the development of a vascularizable, completely synthetic ...

MeV-scale sterile neutrino decays at the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino program

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Nearly-sterile neutrinos with masses in the MeV range and below would be produced in the beam of the Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) program at Fermilab. In this article, we study the potential for SBN to discover these particles through their subsequent ...

A new approach to color-coherent parton evolution

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We present a simple parton-shower model that replaces the explicit angular ordering of the coherent branching formalism with a differentially accurate simulation of soft-gluon radiation by means of a non-trivial dependence of the splitting functions on ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Top quark FCNCs in extended Higgs sectors

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
The large number of top quarks produced at the LHC and possible future hadron colliders allows to study rare decays of this particle. In many well motivated models of new physics, for example in non-minimal composite-Higgs models, the existence of scalar

Double charmed meson in pp and pA collisions production at the LHC within the dipole approach in momentum representation

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
A study of double charmed meson production in proton–proton and proton–nucleus collisions at the LHC energies is performed. Based on the color dipole formalism developed in the transverse momentum representation and the double parton scattering mechanism,

Thermodynamic Limits to Molecular Doping in Conjugated Polymers: A Perspective on Phase Behavior and Miscibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Inhibitory Decay and Supercritical Brain Dynamics During Sleep Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep deprivation progressively shifts human brain dynamics from near‐critical toward supercritical states, as revealed by neuronal avalanche analysis of resting‐state fMRI. These changes track subjective sleep pressure rather than vigilance lapses and show marked network heterogeneity. A circuit model suggests that reduced inhibitory efficacy provides

The q T and ∆ϕ spectra in W and Z production at the LHC at N3LL′+N2LO

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The production of weak gauge bosons, W ± and Z, are at the core of the LHC precision measurement program. Their transverse momentum spectra as well as their pairwise ratios are key theoretical inputs to many high-precision analyses, ranging from the W ...
