Quark flavor phenomenology of the QCD axion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Axion models with generation-dependent Peccei-Quinn charges can lead to flavor-changing neutral currents, thus motivating QCD axion searches at precision flavor experiments.

CRITICAL PHENOMENOLOGY AND PHENOMENOLOGICAL CRITIQUE

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai Philosophia, 2021
Phenomenological critique attempts to retrieve the lived experience of a human community alienated from its truthful condition and immersed in historical crises brought by processes of objectification and estrangement. This introductory article challenges two methodological assumptions that are largely shared in North American Critical Phenomenology ...

Vector boson fusion at multi-TeV muon colliders

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
High-energy lepton colliders with a centre-of-mass energy in the multi-TeV range are currently considered among the most challenging and far-reaching future accelerator projects. Studies performed so far have mostly focused on the reach for new phenomena

Sensemaking Reconsidered: Towards a broader understanding through phenomenology

open access: yesOrganization Theory, 2020
We develop a typology of sensemaking in organizations that reconsiders existing sensemaking research by providing a more coherent and integrative conceptualization of what defines sensemaking and how it is connected with organizing.

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

MeV-scale sterile neutrino decays at the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino program

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Nearly-sterile neutrinos with masses in the MeV range and below would be produced in the beam of the Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) program at Fermilab. In this article, we study the potential for SBN to discover these particles through their subsequent ...

Potential and limitations of machine-learning approaches to inclusive |V ub | determinations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
The determination of |V ub | in inclusive semileptonic B → X u ℓν decays will be among the pivotal tasks of Belle II. In this paper we study the potential and limitations of machine-learning approaches that attempt to reduce theory uncertainties by ...

Models and phenomenology

open access: yes, 2004
It is evident that models of the knee should match the observational phenomenology. In this talk I discuss a few aspects of phenomenology, which are important not only for the understanding of the knee origin, but also for the general problem of the ...
