DNA-Mediated Electrochemistry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The base pair stack of DNA has been demonstrated as a medium for long-range charge transport chemistry both in solution and at DNA-modified surfaces. This chemistry is exquisitely sensitive to structural perturbations in the base pair stack as occur with

Phenoxazine Derivatives Inactivate Human Cytomegalovirus, Herpes Simplex Virus-1, and Herpes Simplex Virus-2 In Vitro

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
We examined whether phenoxazine derivatives, 2-amino-4,4α-dihydro-4α-7-dimethyl-3H-phenoxazine-3-one (Phx-1), 3-amino-1,4α-dihydro-4α-8-dimethyl-2H-phenoxazine-2-one (Phx-2), and 2-amino-phenoxazine-3-one (Phx-3) may have antiviral activity against ...

Accumulation of TB-Active Compounds in Murine Organs Relevant to Infection by Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Tuberculosis (TB), the leading cause of death due to an infectious agent, requires prolonged and costly drug treatments. With the rise in incidence of MDR and XDR TB, newer more efficacious treatments which are better able to permeate into the deeper ...

Novel Nile Blue Analogue Stains Yeast Vacuolar Membrane, Endoplasmic Reticulum, and Lipid Droplets, Inducing Cell Death through Vacuole Membrane Permeabilization

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2021
Phenoxazine derivatives such as Nile Blue analogues are assumed to be increasingly relevant in cell biology due to their fluorescence staining capabilities and antifungal and anticancer activities.

Rapid access to new angular phenothiazine and henoxazine dyes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The synthesis of some new thiophenyl-derivatized and furanyl-derivatized phenothiazine and phenoxazine dyestuffs is described. This was achieved by two methods after the synthesis of 6-chloro-5H-benzo[a]phenothiazin-5-one, 6-chloro-5H-benzo[a]phenoxazin ...

Wasteful Azo Dyes as a Source of Biologically Active Building Blocks

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2021
In this work, an environment-friendly enzymatic strategy was developed for the valorisation of dye-containing wastewaters. We set up biocatalytic processes for the conversion of azo dyes representative of the main classes used in the textile industry ...

Condensed Phenoxazine Dimer and Its Radical Cation [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2020
A condensed phenoxazine dimer was synthesized and characterized. X-ray crystallographic analysis of the dimer shows a double-butterfly structure, in which the nitrogen atoms are located above and below the molecular plane. A radical cation salt of the dimer was obtained using tris(4-bromophenyl)aminium hexafluoroantimonate as the oxidant.

P2X4 receptor function in the nervous system and current breakthroughs in pharmacology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
ATP is a well-known extracellular signalling molecule and neurotransmitter known to activate purinergic P2X receptors. Information has been elucidated about the structure and gating of P2X channels following the determination of the crystal structure of ...

Synthesis, photophysical characterisation and photostability studies of NIR probes with aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated terminals in 5- and 9-amino positions of benzo[a]phenoxazines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A new series of benzo[a]phenoxazinium chlorides possessing mono- or disubstituted amines with 3-chloropropyl groups at the 9-position, isopropyl, cyclohexyl and phenyl groups as terminals at 5-postion was synthesised. Photophysical studies were performed

Phenoxazine Based Units- Synthesis, Photophysics and Electrochemistry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fluorescence, 2010
A few new phenoxazine-based conjugated monomers were synthesized, characterized, and successfully used as semiconducting materials. The phenoxazine-based oligomers have low ionization potentials or high-lying HOMO levels (~4.7 eV), which were estimated from cyclic voltammetry.
