In the DSC curves, the melting point of phenylbutazone Form A was affected by the heating rate (first heat cycle). The DSC curves of the melt crystallized phenylbutazone (second heat cycle) showed the endothermic peaks of both Form C and Form A.

Summary Mittelschmerz is a well‐recognised benign peri‐ovulatory pain syndrome in women and, by physiological analogy, may also occur in mares. In equine practice, peri‐ovulatory ovarian pain has been associated with transient discomfort, colic‐like signs and behavioural changes, although its true clinical relevance remains poorly defined.

Summary A 20‐year‐old warmblood gelding was referred for the evaluation of severe cervical stiffness and pain. Radiographic examination revealed marked arthropathy of the C3–C4 articular processes, with severe remodelling and narrowing of the C3–C4 intervertebral space.

Summary This case series describes the use of a disposable, canister‐free negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) system (PICO®) in combination with punch grafting for the treatment of distal limb wounds in three horses. Each horse presented with complex traumatic injuries resulting in delayed or inadequate healing of distal limb wounds.

This work describes the crystal structures of phenylbutazone 2:1 solvates with benzene, cyclohexane, 1,4-dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, tetrachloromethane, and chloroform. These solvates are isostructural, with the exception of the chloroform solvate.
