Phenylpropionic acid derivates from the bark of Cerbera manghas
Fitoterapia, 2010Two new phenylpropionic acid derivates, cerberic acids A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the bark of Cerbera manghas. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic methods including IR, ESI-FT-ICR-MS, 1D and 2D NMR. Primary bioassays showed that compound 1 possessed weak cytotoxic activity against HepG2, MCF-7, and HeLa cell lines ...

Effects of nandrolone phenylpropionate in the horse: (1) Resting animal
Equine Veterinary Journal, 1982Summary The effects of 7 weekly injections of the anabolic steroid nandrolone phenylpropionate (400 mg) were investigated in 4 healthy, mature geldings. Measurement of body weight, nitrogen retention and plasma urea failed to demonstrate a consistent anabolic effect.

Drug Metabolism and Disposition, 1987
Optical isomerization of 2-phenylpropionic acid (hydratropic acid, HTA) was studied in the organs of male rat in vitro. (R)-(-)-HTA was not isomerized by rat liver homogenate even after the addition of CoA, ATP, and Mg2+ to the incubation mixture; however, it was isomerized slowly but significantly in liver slices.

Synthesis of enantiomerically pure isotopomers of 2‐phenylpropionic acids
Chirality, 2007AbstractA series of enantiomerically pure [D,13C]‐labeled isotopomeric 2‐phenylpropionic acids were efficiently synthesized using a diastereoselective alkylation and kinetic resolution strategy. Chirality, 2007. © 2007 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.

Degradation of 3-phenylpropionic acid by Haloferax sp. D1227
Extremophiles, 1999Haloferax sp. D1227, isolated from soil contaminated with highly saline oil brine, is the first halophilic archaeon to demonstrate the utilization of aromatic compounds (i.e., benzoic acid, cinnamic acid, and 3-phenylpropionic acid) as sole carbon and energy sources for growth.

Determination of phenylpropionic acid in fermentation medium by chromatographic techniques
Folia Microbiologica, 1991Phenylpropionic acid was determined in the fermentation medium by gas chromatography using an internal standard and by reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography. The two methods were evaluated by using the standard quantitative criteria employed in analytical chemistry.

ON THE MECHANISM OF ACTION OF NANDROLONE PHENYLPROPIONATE AND NANDROLONE DECANOATE IN RATS
Acta Endocrinologica, 1965ABSTRACT It has been shown that the duration of action as well as the ratio of anabolic and androgenic activities of nandrolone esters depend on the rate at which they are absorbed from an intramuscular depot. Following release from the depot the nandrolone esters are rapidly hydrolyzed in the blood and the resulting nandrolone was ...
