We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.

Refuge by day, forage by night: Diel activity of vine weevil as characterised by smart monitoring
Vine weevil activity was monitored using a Smart trap, which recorded diel refuge‐seeking behaviour. Increasing light intensity triggered refuge seeking behaviour, while lower light intensity induced forage seeking activity. Understanding vine weevil diel activity can enhance early detection, which can improve the effectiveness of integrated pest ...

Optimal growing temperatures varied with mountain pine beetle‐associated fungal species. There was only a marginal impact of temperature on the response of fungi to defensive monoterpenes of novel host pine. Interspecific facilitation occurred for Leptiographuim longiclavatum when grown in Ophiostoma montium‐induced treatments at optimal temperatures ...

RGS proteins and G protein signalling [PDF]
The work within this thesis is concerned with the creation of a temperature-sensitive Schizosaccharomyces pombe marker protein, and the regulation of the pheromone communication system of Sz. pombe reporter strains by RGS proteins.

Despite a frequent misconception that behavioural concerns are diagnoses of exclusion, medical conditions and behavioural disorders are frequently inter‐related. In human medicine, the ‘multidisciplinary team’ approach (MDTA) is considered the most efficacious way of managing patients with complex and chronic health conditions.

ABSTRACT Objectives The Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) is the most widely used instrument to measure the subjective impact of oral conditions. This study reports the shortening and psychometric evaluation of an ultra‐short version (OHIP‐7A) from the OHIP‐14 in a large national Australian population.

Controllable Intrinsic Surface Pattern Generation Using Slime Mold Simulations
Abstract Surface‐based pattern simulations have proven valuable for texture design and scientific visualization, but existing methods face several limitations. Most simulations either target a narrow range of pattern types (e.g. spots, branching) or support a broad range of patterns at the cost of time‐consuming parameter tuning.

Mutational and computational characterization of transmembrane domains in the fungal G protein-coupled pheromone receptors STE2 and Mam2 [PDF]
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) comprise the largest family of cell-surface receptors involved in sensing a multitude of ligands and are consequently attractive pharmacological targets.

Deposition and longevity of oviposition-deterring pheromone in the cabbage seed weevil
The cabbage seed weevil (Ceutorhynchus assimilis Payk.) lays eggs singly into pods of oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) through punctures bored with the mouthparts, preferring pods not recently used for oviposition.
