Species from Pseudococcidae family were studied. It was determined that the dry males of Planococcus citri, and Pseudococcus comstocki, collected by pheromone traps could be useful for the molecular analyses too.

Development of a dynamic population model as a decision support system for Codling Moth (Cydia pomonella L) management [PDF]
In 2004 RIMpro-Cydia was developed as a dynamic population model that simulates the within-year biology of a local codling moth population. The model is meant to be used by growers and advisors to optimize the control of codling moth populations in ...

Longevity and Weight Loss of Free-flying Male Cecropia Moths, \u3ci\u3eHyalophora Cecropia\u3c/i\u3e (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) [PDF]
During their spring flight season, free-ranging male cecropia moths lived a maximum of 12 days (one of 124 recaptured moths of 387 released moths). The number of survivors declined precipitiously after day five; five to seven days is probably the usual ...

Ips acuminatus (Gyllenhal) in the Czech Republic: Flight dynamics and adult population structure
Ips acuminatus exhibits a univoltine life cycle in Central Europe and no full second generation in midsummer. The sex ratio shifts from male‐biased in spring to slightly female‐biased with the season, with over 90% of females mated. Among the pheromone lures tested, the ACP was most attractive, and combining ACP and PH lures could be used for effective

Are pheromone traps applicable to forecast an insect pest phenology? A case study on codling moth
Applying a precise forecasting method is necessary to achieve acceptable results in IPM programs. Performances of the wing and delta pheromone traps for forecasting the codling moth phenology were compared with physiological time data based on Degree ...

Modeling stratified dispersal in forest pests: A case study of the mountain pine beetle in Alberta
Abstract Forest pests pose critical threats to forest ecosystems worldwide, yet accurately predicting their spatial spread remains challenging due to complex dispersal behaviors, weather effects, and the inherent difficulty of tracking small organisms across large landscapes.
