Metabolic Studies of Tumor Cells Using [1-13 C] Pyruvate Hyperpolarized by Means of PHIP-Side Arm Hydrogenation.

ChemPhysChem, 2018
The kinetics of metabolic processes can be assessed, in real time by means of MR hyperpolarized (HP) metabolites. [1-13 C]pyruvate, hyperpolarized by means of d-DNP, is, by far, the substrate most widely applied to the investigation of several ...

Myricetin stimulates the absorption of the pro-carcinogen PhIP

Cancer Letters, 2006
The effect of the flavonoid myricetin on the transport of the pro-carcinogen 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine (PhIP) through differentiated Caco-2 monolayers, a model for the intestinal epithelium, is described. Myricetin causes an increase of the transport of PhIP from the apical to the basolateral compartment.

Screening of tea clones for inhibition of PhIP mutagenicity

Mutation Research/Fundamental and Molecular Mechanisms of Mutagenesis, 1995
Standard black and green tea extracts have been known to inhibit mutagenicity caused by PhIP, in the Salmonella typhimurium TA98 assay containing S9 fraction from the liver of rats induced with alpha-naphthoflavone and phenobarbital. Breeding and selection programs for high yielding tea clones have successfully increased yields in many tea producing ...

The Treasure Trove of William Phips

The New England Quarterly, 1933
W1l7ILLIAM PHIPS returned to London from his first treasure hunt in the early fall of i685.' But the astrologer's prophecy that he would find "a mighty treasure" was unfulfilled. A "coarse bar of silver," disclosed by a later accounting, proved that the venture to the Caymanas had not been altogether fruitless.

Formation of a creatinine thermal degradation product and its role and participation in the radical pathway of forming the pyridine ring of 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine (PhIP).

Food Chemistry, 2019
Creatinine, commonly found in muscle tissue, has been demonstrated as an essential precursor of 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo [4, 5-b] pyridine (PhIP) in thermally possessed foods. In this current study, formamide and N-methylformamide were identified
