Phlogopite-based glass ceramics

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1986
Abstract The technological process for preparing phlogopite-based glass ceramics was studied. The transformation of microstructure in the crystallization process, and the factors influencing the electrical properties of the material, are emphatically discussed.

Microwave Exfoliation of Vermiculite and Phlogopite

Clays and Clay Minerals, 2003
AbstractVermiculites and phlogopites can be exfoliated by chemical and thermal treatment methods to obtain chemically inert, adsorbent, fire-resistant, low-density materials with excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties. The water content of the clay generally determines the extent of exfoliation and the presence of interstratification is ...

Mössbauer study of Hungarian phlogopites

Hyperfine Interactions, 1990
Ultramafic xenoliths of mantle origin occur in Hungarian Cretaceous lamprophyres. The aim of the present work was to determine the iron positions and their occupancy in phlogopites originated from ultramafic xenoliths by the help of Mossbauer spectroscopy.

The electret state of phlogopite

Russian Physics Journal, 1993
An electret state of phlogopite is discovered. An investigation of the currents of thermostimulated depolarization and the currents of thermodepolarization shows that proton relaxation plays a part in its formation.

Phlogopite synthesis and stability range

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1954
Abstract A hydroxyl-bearing phlogopite has been synthesized and its upper stability limit determined up to 75,000 psi water vapour pressure. Above the upper stability limit the stable phases are forsterite + leucite + orthorhombic KAlSiO4 + vapour.
