EBSD measurements of phlogopite glass ceramics

CrystEngComm, 2015
Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) is applied to conventional glass ceramics containing fluorophlogopite. EBSD analysis is possible in crystals containing a relatively low defect density, while indexable EBSD patterns could not be obtained from curved phlogopite crystals.

Microstructural design of phlogopite glass-ceramics

Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2016
Fluorophlogopite glass-ceramics in the MgO–Al2O3–SiO2 glass systems were crystallized by two stages thermal treatments. Obtained glass-ceramics were characterized by DTA, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The heat treated samples at 705°C/3 h + 1000°C/15 min showed 2570.32 ± 98 MPa microhardness.

Phlogopite/matrix, Cpx/matrix and Cpx/phlogopite trace element partitioning in true lamprophyres

2011
This contribution summarizes the results of pilot determination of distribution coefficients for various trace elements between the phlogopite, clinopyroxene and surrounding matrix of calc-alkaline lamprophyres. Partition coefficients were determined using the method of laser ablation in conjunction with inductively coupled plasma-mass spektrometry (LA-

Al-saturated phlogopite

Factors controlling the crystal structure of phlogopite have been widely investigated; but the role of electrostatic interactions, for example, has received much less attention than other factors. The purpose of the present study was to peform a single-crystal refinement of an Al-saturated phlogopite and to use that refinement to supplement crystal ...

Platy phlogopite from blast-furnace slags

Mineralogical Magazine, 1984
AbstractPhlogopite mica has crystallized from blast-furnace slags at atmospheric pressure. Its chemistry is characterized by an excess of Na and K over their normal stoichiometric content, which is attributed to a composite association between phlogopite and glass. The diffraction pattern indicates that the phlogopite has a preferred orientation around
