Plasma Acceleration by Magnetic Tension Forces in the Martian Magnetotail: MAVEN Observations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 24, 28 December 2025.
Abstract The Martian magnetotail is a dynamic region where several processes contribute to plasma acceleration. Here, we analyze ∼5 ${\sim} 5$ years of Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) data to evaluate the role of magnetic tension forces in driving plasma acceleration within current sheets in the tail. Based on magnetic field measurements,

Latest results from the PHOBOS experiment

open access: yes, 2008
Over the past years PHOBOS has continued to analyze the large datasets obtained from the first five runs of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The two main analysis streams have been pursued.

Maximizing Scientific Exploitation of Raman Spectroscopy With A.C.M.E. (Atmospheric Chamber for Measurements in Environment)

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 56, Issue 11, Page 1394-1403, November 2025.
Simulated planetary gas detection using the A.C.M.E. chamber and a novel hollow‐core fiber Raman sensor. Controlled atmospheric mixtures were used to evaluate the sensor’s performance, demonstrating its capability to detect gases such as CO₂, O₂, and N₂. The results support the applicability of the HCF‐based Raman sensor in future planetary exploration

Exploring the Validation Results of the Advanced Solar Particle Events Casting System (ASPECS)

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events can adversely affect space and ground‐based systems. Space weather effects associated with SEP events can impact communication and navigation systems, spacecraft electronics and operations, space power systems, crewed space missions, and commercial aircraft operations.

MAPPING OF INNER AND OUTER CELESTIAL BODIES USING NEW GLOBAL AND LOCAL TOPOGRAPHIC DATA DERIVED FROM PHOTOGRAMMETRIC IMAGE PROCESSING [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
New estimation of fundamental geodetic parameters and global and local topography of planets and satellites provide basic coordinate systems for mapping as well as opportunities for studies of processes on their surfaces.

Cold Atom Interferometry for Enhancing the Radio Science Gravity Experiment: A Phobos Case Study

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Interplanetary missions have typically relied on Radio Science (RS) to recover gravity fields by detecting their signatures on the spacecraft trajectory.

Modeling the Crustal Magnetic Field of Mars With Physics‐Informed Neural Networks

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Satellites orbiting Mars have measured crustal magnetic fields up to two orders of magnitude stronger than those on Earth. Although Mars currently lacks an active global magnetic field, this magnetization preserves a valuable record of the planet's early dynamo activity and crustal evolution.

Closing Force Evaluation of a Sample Return Capsule for a Phobos Sample Return Mission

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The mission objective of the Phobos Sample Return is to collect and return 100 g of Phobos’ surface material to Earth inside a tight enclosure composed of a Vault, a Sample Container and sealing elements.

On the Impact Origin of Phobos and Deimos I: Thermodynamic and Physical Aspects

open access: yes, 2017
Phobos and Deimos are the two small moons of Mars. Recent works have shown that they can accrete within an impact-generated disk. However, the detailed structure and initial thermodynamic properties of the disk are poorly understood.

Energy and centrality dependences of charged multiplicity density in relativistic nuclear collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Using a hadron and string cascade model, JPCIAE, the energy and centrality dependences of charged particle pseudorapidity density in relativistic nuclear collisions were studied.
