Phonons in a strongly coupled electron-phonon system
Physical Review B, 1991The theory of vibration excitations in a strongly coupled electron-phonon system is developed. The renormalization of phonon frequencies due to the strong electron-phonon interaction is obtained, taking into account the polaron narrowing of the electron band. Polaron-phonon interaction leads to a softening of the phonon frequencies and damping.

Phonon-phonon interaction and phonon drag in potassium at low temperatures
Philosophical Magazine B, 1994Abstract The coupled Boltzmann equations for phonons and electrons in the low-temperature limit are solved through a perturbative method in which the phonon-phonon interaction is treated as a small perturbation. In this way it is possible to define the extension of the temperature range where phonon drag is effective, that is the range where the above ...

Phonon-phonon interaction and two-phonon Raman scattering in NaCl
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1972The second order Raman spectrum of NaCl is calculated on the basis of a nonlinear shell model. Good agreement with experimental results is obtained with a two parameter model. The theory is developed to allow for certain of the interactions between the participating phonons and calculations show that these have a small effect on the room temperature ...
