Journal of Natural Products, 2017Three new lupane-type triterpenes, 3α,24-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid (1), 3α,23-dihydroxy-30-oxolup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid (2), and 3α,23-O-isopropylidenyl-3α,23-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid (3), together with eight known compounds (4-11) were isolated from a methanol extract of Phoradendron vernicosum aerial parts.

American Journal of Botany, 1957REASONS FOR this study were two: to investigate the possibility that different chromosome races of Phoradendron flavescens (Pursh) Nutt. might occur selectively on certain hosts and to determine whether the unusual sex-chromosome mechanism reported by Billings (1932, 1933) for P. flavescens var. macrophyllum Engelm. and for P. villosum Nutt.
