Analysis of Carbohydrates and Glycoconjugates by Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry: An Update for 2023–2024

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The use of MALDI mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this comprehensive review is the twelfth update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2024.

Design of an In Vivo‐Like Phantom for Quantitative Body CEST MRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To design and validate a reproducible in vivo‐like fat‐containing CEST phantom that enables robust quantitative CEST MRI for body applications by providing physiologically realistic relaxation properties, relevant endogenous CEST contrasts (amide, guanidino, rNOE, and semi‐solid MT), and a controlled fat component.

Biosurfactant production by Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from mining waste: From genomic analysis to development of a polymeric composite for removal of hexavalent chromium

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Biosurfactant was produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa using andiroba waste from Amazonia. A biosurfactant–alginate composite (Alg/BioS) was successfully synthesized via ionotropic gelation, and achieved up to 70% Cr6+ removal from water. Abstract Environmental contamination by heavy metals represents a significant challenge due to their persistence in ...

Effect of Co-inoculation of Two Bacteria on Phosphate Solubilization

open access: yesKorean Journal of Soil Science and Fertilizer, 2016
Two phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Pantoea rodasii PSB-11and Enterobacter aerogenes PSB-12, were isolated from button mushroom compost and employed to assess their synergistic effect in liquid medium and on growth of green gram plants by single and co-inoculation of the strains.

Combined application of Bacillus velezensis JDB15 and Trichoderma harzianum JDL4 suppresses banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The surfactin C secreted by JDB15 and the probable parasitism of JDL4 lead to the leakage of intracellular macromolecules and the degradation of hyphae, respectively. Combined application of the two strains effectively controls banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions.

Biocontrol and plant growth‐promoting potential of Streptomyces strains against fungal pathogens of tomato and wheat for a sustainable agriculture

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the biocontrol potential of Streptomyces strain Strep_22. In vitro, it inhibits key fungal pathogens by 91.52%. In vivo, it significantly reduces disease incidence in wheat and tomato while enhancing biomass, shoot, and root development, offering a highly promising, sustainable ecological alternative to chemical pesticides ...

Selection and agricultural use of potential phosphate-solubilizing bacteria isolated from poultry slaughterhouse sludge in maize

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias
In the farming, increasing demands for higher yields has put pressure on land resources which eventually increased demand for phosphate fertilizers (non-renewable resource), given that low availability of phosphorus in many soils is often compensated by

Bioactive Natural Products in Cardiovascular Disease: Focus on Thrombotic Events

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
An overview of the role of natural products (NP) in cardiovascular disease prevention, highlighting key mechanisms of action: including antiplatelet, antithrombotic, anti‐inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. Additionally, it illustrates the integration of diet–drug interactions, nutritional epigenetics, and the role of artificial intelligence in ...
