Natural Lactone‐Based Quorum Sensing Inhibitors Attenuate Virulence in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Targeting bacterial communication, lab‐generated lactones (Lx) inhibited biofilm formation and eliminated mature biofilms within 24–48 h. Lx treatment also suppressed pyocyanin and rhamnolipid production while downregulating rhlR expression, highlighting their promise as potent quorum‐sensing (QS) inhibitors and next‐generation antibiofilm therapeutics.

Bio‐Based Potential of Phenolic‐Rich Fabaceae Seeds (Gonocytisus angulatus, Podocytisus caramanicus): Chemical Standardization, Functional Screening, and Molecular Insights

This study provides the first comparative phytochemical and functional evaluation of Gonocytisus angulatus and Podocytisus caramanicus seeds. Methanolic extracts showed richer phenolic profiles, while aqueous decoctions provided higher extraction yields. P. caramanicus exhibited strong ABTS radical scavenging activity.
