EM23, a natural sesquiterpene lactone from Elephantopus mollis H.B.K., induces apoptosis in human myeloid leukemia cells through thioredoxin- and reactive oxygen species-mediated signaling pathways

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2016
Elephantopus mollis H.B.K. (EM) is a traditional herbal medicine with multiple pharmacological activities. However, the efficacy of EM in treating human leukemia is currently unknown.

The stretch-activated potassium channel TREK-1 in rat cardiac ventricular muscle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Cardiac TREK-1 like potassium channels play an important role in the function of cardiomyocytes. A novel low-conductance TREK-1 like potassium channel and a high-conductance TREK-1 like potassium channel in rat cardiomyocytes are described in this thesis.

Redox‐Responsive Mitochondrial Delivery from Functionalized Vascular Stent Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
A redox‐responsive stent surface is engineered to deliver functional mitochondria in response to oxidative stress. Upon exposure to reactive oxygen species, grafted mitochondria are released, internalized by vascular cells, and restore mitochondrial function under stress.

Zweikanal‐Fluoreszenz‐Assays mit supramolekularen Wirt/Farbstoff‐Reporterpaaren zur Kartierung der Membranaktivität von Peptiden

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Dual‐Channel Fluorescence Assays with Supramolecular Host‐Dye Reporter Pairs for Membrane Activity Mapping of Peptides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Membrane‐active peptides (MAPs) such as cell‐penetrating peptides (CPPs) and antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) can translocate across lipid membranes and create membrane pores. The combination of a dye efflux and a supramolecular tandem membrane assay in a dual‐channel format enables an advanced mechanistic characterization and an exploration of the ...

A Cost‐Effective Hybrid Method For Homogeneous Matrix Coating in Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry Imaging Using Simultaneous Spin and Spray Deposition

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
This study introduces an in‐house spin coater for matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging, providing homogeneous matrix deposition via simultaneous spray and spin. The approach yields reproducible signals and clear metabolite distributions in complex tissues.
